Join us for our book club! Each week we will discuss a selection of our chosen book for an hour or so and dive deeper into our understanding and community as we share our own insights. Our next selection is The Vortex by Abraham Hicks and we will begin Feb 3rd. Come on out and bring a friend or better yet, come to Cindy's mixed level Anusara Inspired class @ 5:30 and stay for book club! We meet on Friday's at 7:15 PM. Feel free to bring snacks or beverages to share.

 

Partner Yoga Worksop

Whatever your reason, partner yoga is a great way to explore your own body, find focus, symmetry and balance, bolster your yoga practice and connect with others on a deeper level. No worries if you don't bring a partner, we'll take care of you!

Come join us for a special workshop as we meld partnering poses & massage, deep relaxation, and breath work for a truly enjoyable afternoon!  Afterwards, an optional get together at a local restaurant to get to know one another better.  (Let us know if you plan to join us when making your workshop reservation.)

Dancing with the Goddesses: The Cycles of Nature
March 2nd-3rd, 2012


In nature everything pulses in orderly cycles... our breath, the unfolding of each day, the shifting of the seasons. Learning to distinguish, understand, and align with these natural rhythms has been the object of yoga practice for thousands of years. In this Anusara ALL LEVELS workshop we will explore the ecstatic stories of the Goddesses Kali, Saraswati, and Lakshmi to discover how nature dances and learn how to skillfully align in that dance to open your heart fully.

During the weekend, Stacey will combine some basic principles of Ayurveda with the elegant Universal Principles of Alignment to help you lean into your potential of creating a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Stacey Millner-Collins

 

As a certified Anusara® yoga instructor Stacey Millner-Collins has cultivated a thriving yoga community in Columbia , South Carolina at her studio, City Yoga (www.CityYogaSC.com) which opened in 2003. Stacey has been a spiritual seeker for her entire adult life and has tasted the beauty of many traditions. Her passion is to unite these various spiritual traditions in a way that celebrates the joy of living a fully embodied existence. Described as a teacher who combines soulful inspiration with precise biomechanical instruction, Stacey believes that the practice of yoga is deeply transformational because, as Rumi wrote, "Only from the heart can you touch the sky."

She began her practice in 1994 and shortly thereafter lived and studied yoga for several months in Varanasi , India , accompanied by her husband and two young daughters. Upon her return in 1998, Stacey began teaching yoga full time. She had her first auspicious meeting with John Friend, the founder of Anusara Yoga, in 2001 and recognized not only her true teacher but a fellow spiritual explorer. She was certified in 2006 and currently sits on several Anusara committees including the Certification Committee. She enjoys regular study with John and is grateful for the powerful life teachings he has given to our expanding worldwide yoga community.

Through her connection with Anusara Yoga, Stacey has also had the great fortune to study extensively with the renowned Hindu Tantric scholars Drs. Douglas Brooks, Bill Mahony, and Paul Muller-Ortega. She teaches national workshops, Immersions and Teacher Trainings, and recently taught at the Anusara Grand Circle at Wanderlust in Vermont . Stacey is also currently enrolled in a year long study of Ayurveda with Cate Stillman, C.A.S.

Itinerary:

July 8 - pick up from the Cusco airport to Pisac for check in, rest and to acclimate to the altitude. After lunch enjoy the colorful local market. Orientation and yoga that evening at Paz y Luz retreat center in Pisac. (L&D)

July 9 - (Morning yoga with Cindy). Diane Dunn, creator of the Peace & Light Center (Paz y Luz) is a healer, teacher and author of "CUSCO: The Gateway to Inner Wisdom". She will lead us in exercises with the four elements: earth, water, air and fire- to release, cleanse, transform and purify our personal energy. We will learn to connect with the forces of nature to awaken our inner wisdom and amplify our consciousness. Sleep at Paz y Luz in Pisac. (B, L & D)

July 10 - (Morning yoga with Isaballe). Beautiful drive through the Sacred Valley to the Inka temples at Ollantaytambo. Take an afternoon train to Aguas Calientes. Later you can soak in the healing hot springs of Aguas Calientes, relaxing and processing with Cindy. [lunch & dinner not included] Sleep in Aguas Calientes. (B)

July 11 - Your Peruvian tour guide will accompany you to Machu Picchu site where you will explore this famous lost city of the Inkas. Meditation lead by Isabelle. Option to climb Huayna Picchu, Then you can wander freely on your own before taking the afternoon train and returning to Pisac. (bring your own snacks up for "lunch") Spend the night at Paz y Luz. (B only)

July 12 - (Morning yoga with Cindy). Yoga intensive in the morning and hike in the Pisac ruins after lunch. Sharing circle that evening to process your experiences. Sleep at Paz y Luz. (B, L & D)

July 13 (Morning yoga with Isabelle). Explore the ancient temples above Cusco: Q'enko, & Temple of the Moon and Sacsaywaman. After lunch in Cusco there will be time on your own to wander around the city, visit churches and museums if you'd like, shop for crafts, etc. After dinner on your own (not included) for those who wish to forego a good night's sleep, disco dancing is an option! Sleep in Cusco. (B only)

July 14 - Taxi to airport to fly to Lima

$500 Deposit due by March 1st, 2012
Full Payment due by May 1st, 2012

You can now pay for the deposit and full retreat online. You also have the option of paying in increments of $250 until full payment is due by May 1st, 2012.

Retreat cost includes breakfast every morning, lunch & dinner where noted, hotels, local transportation, entry to all sights, train to Machu Picchu and guide services. It does not include airfare, drinks or tips

We are planning an amazing yoga retreat within the Sacred Valley of Peru for the Summer of 2012. We will be staying at the Paz Y Luz Healing Center in Pisac. We have done a retreat here before and you can see pictures in our Gallery.
